'Hawt Shot' by Replicants follows up the recent 'Organic Synthetic Electronic' EP with a scorching second round of electro jams. The original mixes draw inspiration from an ongoing series that brings old school influences into the present - a bootleg time machine. Five original mixes, each gutted of their a capella frameworks carve out a set of powerful mix weapons that will stack any electro crate with an adequate range of beautifully produced power tools.

'Monotone', 'Fire' and 'It's the Little Things; all feature extended breaks but fill themselves out with chunky, warm, analog layers that uphold some fabulous arrangements. 'Hawt Shot [drum a pella]' and 'Lost In Space [extended mix]' on the other hand, lay out some serious utility beats for long, layered sessions and creative combinations.

Keeping with the theme of this series by Replicants, the big shiny prizes are the bonus bootlegs, available only as free items that accompany the full release package on Bandcamp. These stunning cuts bring new electro life to classic vocal performances by Martha Johnson (Martha and the Muffins), Lizzy Mercier Descloux, and Karen Young. In these fully formed compositions, the performances of these legendary dance divas truly generate the retro spark that ignites this collection.
